Karaoke timings not transferring to laptop

I did a karaoke medley and added lyrics to a .txt document (using the same name as the mp3 file) then synced the text to the music which I have done many many times before and all has worked well.
All works fine on my MAC Studio - the words highlight in sync perfectly.

When I copied the MP3 and TXT doc to my laptop to perform the medley in our local pub the timings didn't work - and all lines are set at 0.00.00 (the text file loaded up OK and all works fine on the original machine)?

Where is the timings for the lyrics stored? Are they in the MP3 file or the text file?

OK - Iv'e just noticed another file with the .QMID extension containing a .JSON file - I'm assuming this is the sync data (timings) file. I'm sure I only copied the 2 files before while using version 2.?? when I did a karaoke medley?
Has this changed for Version 3 ? Was it originally bundled with the MP3 file before? Just interested
