MIDI channel to port assignment

Firstly let me say that this app looks to be perfect for what I want to achieve with my live set up. Especially the syncing of MIDI to audio files.

However in my MIDI files I have the need to split where each channel is routed to.
Channels 1 to 2 will go to the mixer to automate the effects. (on and off)
Channel 3 will go to the Guitarist pedal board for automation
Channels 4 to 16 will go to mainstage.

Is there a way to achieve this in QMidi or is there a through function in Mainstage that will let me route channels 1 and 2 externally?

Currently Sweet Midi player has this functionality built in and it would be excellent if QMidi could incorporate this too.

What you can do now is routing the MIDI stream to an external "Patch Bay" application:
