Volume cursor on main panel and other improvement

Musical
This post was updated on .
Good Day Mr Di Gleria, Fist of all Thanks for your Qmidi software, I love
it .
However I have a suggestion to Improve Qmidi(if it¹s technically
possible) My suggestion refer to an option that I had on a Pc version
Midi player (van basco).

-Here is the situation ..In many Mp3 file, once we press the start button
and depends of the mp3 file, it may take several seconds before the song
start. Would it be possible to have an option for the player to recognize
when the « wave » start and jump at the begging of the sound then start.
for live performance it would be easier to « joint  two or more songs in
other to keep the set tight  and avoid long delay they between songs

-Another improvement for live performer would be to have a Volume cursor
attached verticaly to the right or left of the the transport main panel. Im a
keyboard player and signer so some time I have to make volume adjustment
and the shot cut for volume required to be very precise and the mixer panel takes to much place because:  I have
many screen opened , I fist have to take the mouse to click to  Qmidi
screen then do the shortcut . But  If I had a volume cursor, I would just
take the mouse and clic on the volume cursor and slide

Hope this would be easy to do!

There are all kinds of batch MP3 silence trimmer utilities out on the web, but if the MP3 already has embedded lyric data, I’m not sure I know of any that preserve the lyrics metadata, let alone correct the sync to compensate for the removed audio.

I really think integration into QMIDI might be the only way to automate this, as only QMIDI already knows the lyric synchronization data and could offset the lyrics based on how many ms were chopped from the beginning. Once again, I know this can already be done on a single track basis, but most of us have hundreds to thousands or more tracks and doing them singly isn’t really practical.

Can you think of a way to automate this, Bruno? I think some of the silence trimmers are public domain...

By the way, I like the MIDI command for volume up or down, is it possible to quickly (like one click so it can be used live without interrupting the show!) write this offset to the file so it doesn’t need to be done every time? During a show, there isn’t much time to hunt down dialog boxes. Perhaps a simple ‘Freeze Adjustments’ button nice and big and hard to miss would make life easy...

What do you mean with "write this offset to the file so it doesn’t need to be done every time?"
If you set this in the library item, the change is valid on any playlist instance.

I was thinking that if you use a remote MIDI command to bump the volume up or down a bit, was there a VERY quick button to save the offset you made remotely?

On a gig, time between songs is critical. The simplest way to write any changes and get on with the next song without dialog boxes etc. is best.

Maybe a MIDI remote command for 'Save' would be an answer? Or is there one already?
