iPhone app that will display these QMIDI lyrics?

Dikikeys
As a backup, I'd like to have my custom backing tracks for my keyboard show display on an iPhone (iOS11).

They all are MP3, and have QMIDI embedded lyrics. However, the lyrics don't seem to show up as lyrics for iTunes in its lyrics viewer.

Does anyone know a good iPhone app that will display these particular types of embedded lyrics?

Ideally, it should be able to play iTunes playlists. And, even more ideally (!) it should be able to play one song AND STOP!

Any ideas?

... "the lyrics don't seem to show up as lyrics for iTunes in its lyrics viewer."

On my side I could consider to add the requested lyrics format when embedding by export. Actually using SYLT.

I'm just not sure on which format iTunes supports... Perhaps USLT. I will investigate.

OK...

The lyrics of AAC files are stored as ©lyr tag
The lyrics of MP3 files are stored as USLT tag.

I will add support for these tags on next QMidi version.

Awesome...

You might want to look up the synchronized vs. unsynchronized issues with iTunes lyrics display. I spent a few hours trolling the Internet trying to track this issue down... It's pretty crazy out there!

The vast majority of iPhone apps designed for lyric display expect to see the original version, then they go off to the web and retrieve the lyrics. Obviously, this doesn't work with user created music!

Any chance of a macro that can add the new tags (I'm hoping this won't invalidate the current tags... It will be a pain to have to have identical files in two formats for different use!) to an entire folder in one go?

For those of us with hundreds (or thousands!) of lyric MP3's, it is going to be quite a task if they have to be done one by one... I am imagining all I need to do, one by one is open them in the forthcoming version, and do a 'replace' on the export, right?

And, to reiterate  the above: Will the MP3 be able to contain BOTH types of tags at the same time? Housekeeping hundreds of MP3's with identical names but different tags is going to be a nightmare!

BTW, I'll be happy to do the beta testing on this, again, for you...

Yes, both tags can be there :-)
I will make a batch utility to create ULST from SYLT on a selection of MP3s.

Awesome! Bruno, you are the man!

Are you able to detail yet whether synced lyrics (where each word gets the highlight) or un-synced (where each line gets the highlight - I hope I'm using the right terms) will run under iTunes/Music correctly?

I'm afraid that iTunes support is limited to un-synced lyrics.

If you have synced (single word sync) lyrics, will it display as whole line sync, or will you have to do a re-sync?

Goor to know, though. Fortunately, I tend to do most of mine on a line by line basis, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Un-synced means that the lyrics are raw text with no sync info at all

Ooh... that's not good. Can you bluetooth 'page' the lyrics, or do you have to stop playing to scroll the screen down?

If this is not going to work, do you know of an app that WILL read your iTunes library, but display synced lyrics? I know that QMIDI does this on a laptop, but I mean hopefully an iPhone or iPad?

This is a definite shortcoming in iTunes... Does it allow add-ons, plug-ins, etc.?

In the meantime, please don't give up on the iTunes tags. I guess hand-scrolling is better than nothing at all..!

Seems to be working (at least the iTunes tags)...

Unfortunately, without auto scroll or synced lines, this does not seem to be a viable option at the moment.

Does anyone know of a karaoke app for iPhone that WILL read the synced SYLT tags and read your iPhone's iTunes library?

I guess what we REALLY want is QMIDI for iPhone/iPad...

I wonder what the odds are?!
