save or save as menu disabled

I have an updated version of Q midi 2 and a rego code that has worked previously.  After I enter the code a note says 'code will no longer be shown' but when I come to save or save as, these options are still greyed out? My computer has recently been upgraded to a Macbook air.

Use the "File > Save" menu to save your changes after editing/syncing the karaoke text.
If indeed you need to save a mix, use the "File > Export Current…" menu.

The file-save option is not available(grey) like on the free trial version. I have entered a rego code so shouldn't the file-save option be active?

The "File > Save" menu is enabled after a modification to the karaoke text and while the karaoke window is frontmost. No other usage.
