separate the click track signal from the midi channels?

soundwaves
Is there an easy way to separate the click track signal from the midi channels?  I love the tones of the midi channels that play through my MacBook Pro, but I need to have the click track play through a different source.  If I buy an external sound card or sound module, can I assign the click track to play through one of those?

If you want to route audio to both the mac and an external device card, you have to create an aggregate device.

More on aggregate devices:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202000
"Audio MIDI Setup" help (menu "Help > Audio MIDI Setup Help").

When adding the aggregate device, first select the built-in output so channels 1-2 will be played internally. The external audio card will handle the next channels.

Choose then the combined newly created device as a sound output of the mac.
Finally in QMidi choose channels 3-4 for the click.

Thank you for the reply, but I am a novice to midi and I don't understand your explanation. Would it be possible to upload a video of my set up and show what I'm trying to achieve? I would love a video tutorial back or to even Skype to show me how to accomplish this. I look forward to anyone's help!
