New Qmidi Design

RetroAndMore
Hello,

I'm new to the forum, so I'm doing a quick introduction.
My first computer was a C64, then an Amiga 500, after this an Amiga 4000T.
I'm also continuing to use retro computers, with real hardware, no FPGA-rebuilds.
I also like vintage Hi-Fi and tape audio. I have so many systems, up to Stereo-Microcassette.
In 2006 I got my first OSx86 machine working and I'm never going back to Windows ;-)

I'm having a lot of weird hardware at home. My setup for Qmidi also isn't very standard:

- A 2015 MacBook Pro 11,5
- upgraded to a 4 TB NVME SSD
- running Sonoma 14.4.1 using OpenCore Legacy Patcher
- with a Roland UM-One MIDI interface
- connected to a Roland SoundCanvas SC-88
- using 720K floppies from my Roland SoundBrush SB-55
- in a Sony Dual-Speed USB floppy drive on macOS.

Yes, Sonoma supports 720K floppies, but no 32-bit software. Priorities had to be made ;-)

It took a while until I got the SoundCanvas working on macOS, but now it works great.
Then I was searching for a MIDI Player software and found Qmidi. It's very good, but...

it looks sooo outdated.

The brushed metal look is from Tiger, the GUI is from MacOS Classic, and the VU-meter
style reminds me on early music software on the Amiga.

It's not that I like the style of the actual macOS GUI, but Qmidi looks really too old.
As a retro computer user I have no problems with older GUI's, but in the opposite to the
C64 and the Amiga Mac OS Classic is dead. A good program shouldn't look like a dead OS.

I'm doing graphics work since C64 time, and because Qmidi only uses standard image
files it would not be a problem for me to create the design. I already made new icons.

Unfortunately Qmidi notices notices file modifications, so I would need versions of
Qmidi and Qmidi Pro without this check to do the changes.

I also can provide a new translation for Qmidi.

Greets, RetroAndMore.

Here's my icon. It combines a colorful Q, a DIN-5 connector and
a keyboard. The three keys are representing an M.
It's in the App-style format and is of course in 1024x1024 pixels.
For Qmidi Pro exists a variation of this icon.

Another icon I made. I'm storing my large Midi file collection in a disk image
so that they're not appearing in Spotlight search all the time.
To make it look better on the Desktop, I made an icon for this image.
All my volumes are having an own icon with a symbol in the corner.

If you want, you can "play" with the v3 beta version, which is not locked :)

Yes, the beta is working and can be modified.

I'm nearly finished with the graphics, do you have a .lproject folder
with .strings files in english? Then I could do a new localization.
